Richard specialises in speechwriting, government work and comedy. A former civil servant and political advisor to Denis Healey and Gerald Kaufman, and a columnist for seven years on The Mail On Sunday, he is one of our top writers, specialising in speeches. His most recent novel, The Speculator, is available on the web, and his previous work, A Tale of Ten Wickets, graces the library at 10 Downing Street. He was the runner-up on Mastermind in 1996 and gained a law degree in 2002. His book on the craft of speechwriting, High Impact Speeches, was published in 2003.
