Clarity sponsors communication in NHS
Clarity was one of the chief sponsors of the conference of the Association of Healthcare Communicators in Sheffield in October 2007.
Rupert Morris, Chairman of Clarity, gave a presentation on 'How to Miss the Point and Confuse People', exposing some of the common pitfalls of corporate writing, and selecting both good and bad examples from the NHS. He also presented prizes to the winners and runners-up in the awards for 'Best Information for Patients'.
Clarity has compiled and edited a number of major reports for the Department of Health, including the 2005 Annual Report of the NHS Modernisation Board, and the last two annual reports of the NHS Modernisation Agency.

Chairman's letter to the FT
On November 13th 2007, the FT published a letter from Rupert Morris, responding to an article by Michael Skapinker on the proliferation of different versions of English, and the difficulty that native speakers have in making themselves understood by non-native speakers.

Recommendation for Susannah Ross's book
The latest book by our Web specialist, Susannah Ross, Chambers Desktop Guide to Writing for the Web, has been recommended by the internationally renowned Web consultant, Jakob Nielsen.
On his website, Nielsen says Susannah's book is only available in the UK, but "it's worth the extra shipping charges to get this book mailed to you from Amazon.co.uk, even if you're in the U.S. or otherwise far away from London. Ross manages to cover all the most important issues in less space than anybody else, mainly because she focuses on writing …"

Chairman's letter to the FT
On August 22nd 2007, the FT published an article by Howard Davies, Chairman of the judges for the Man Booker prize, lamenting British novelists' lack of interest in business. Two days later, the FT led its letters page with a response by Rupert Morris, Chairman of Clarity.

Clarity celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. On 3rd May 2007 we gave a drinks party at the National Liberal Club to mark the occasion and Rupert Morris, Clarity's founder and chairman, gave a short presentation.
